The Key To A Fulfilling Career? Knowing Your Values

Are you feeling stuck in a job that just doesn’t feel right, but you can’t pinpoint why?

The answer often lies in your values — a set of core beliefs that reflect what matters most to you in life.

They are responsible for
➡️ Shaping your decisions
➡️ Driving your motivation
➡️ Influencing the actions you take (or don’t take) and
➡️ Affecting your overall happiness at work

When your career aligns with your values, work becomes more than just a job—it feels meaningful, fulfilling, and energising. This alignment creates a ripple effect, bringing a sense of calm and balance into your life.

⚠️ But when there’s misalignment, frustration, resentment and disengagement can creep in. You may also feel as though something is ‘off' or ‘just isn’t sitting right’—leading to feelings of unease or anxiety.

The knock-on effect? Over time life starts to feel like an uphill struggle – heavy, draining and overwhelming.

If this resonates with you, it might be time to reflect and reassess your values BEFORE you make your next career move.

Ask yourself: What’s most important to who I am today?
➡️ Family?
➡️ Freedom?
➡️ Health?
➡️ Achievement?
➡️ Flexibility? Etc…

Go deeper to increase clarity:
➡️ How would I rank my values in order of importance?
➡️ Which values make up my top 5?
➡️ What are my main priorities within those top 5 values?
(For example, "family" is within my top 5 and one of my priorities is being able to take my children to school.)

➡️ How do I want my work to support my values and priorities?
➡️ What do I truly need to feel fulfilled and happy in my career?

💡 When you know your values, you can forge a career driven by fulfilment and purpose—where happiness and success naturally follow.
